AWANA

awana logoThe Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) The members of Bethel Baptist Church and I are glad you have expressed an interest in our Awana Clubs. Awana Clubs are an international program designed to come alongside and help you “train up [your] child in the way he [or she] should go.”
Awana Clubs are designed to teach children Biblical truths about how to get to heaven someday and how to live on planet earth today. The Awana Leaders are committed to provide your child each week with a safe, educational and exciting program.

General Overview:

Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed – 2 Timothy 2:15) offers clubs for children in Pre-K through 6th Grade.

Cubbies: The club for 3- and 4-year olds, which emphasizes parental participation and Bible memorization.
Sparks: The club for children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade, which emphasizes Bible memorization and Bible-centered activities.
T & T (Truth and Training): The club for children in 3rd though 6th Grade, which emphasizes Bible memorization and Bible-centered achievements.
Trek: The club for children in 7th and 8th Grade, which emphasizes that the Christian walk never stops.

The Awana clubs follow a simple format: Clubs meet for 1½ hours each week (Wednesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 P.M.). Each 1½ hour-program includes three half-hour segments (approximately):
Council Time: Clubbers come together for general announcements and an interesting, inspiring Bible lesson.
Handbook Time: Clubbers work in their handbook, and they are afforded the opportunity to seek help from their designated leaders.
Game Time: Clubbers develop team-player skills and unleash natural energy through safe, competitive, organized games
